The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.
(Psalm 37:23-24)
God is busy with our every step! That means we are never alone. When we fall down He helps us back up and encourages us to go forward again. No person will learn to be led by God without making some mistakes, but remember that God knew about them before they took place (see Psalm 139:16). Remember that God delights in you and is busy with your every step. If you fall, He will lift you up.
All of the great men and women we read about and admire in the Bible and throughout history made mistakes. God does not choose us because we are perfect, but so He can show Himself strong through us. He actually chooses on purpose the weak and foolish things of the world to amaze everyone and show His greatness
(see 1 Corinthians 1:28-29). Don't accept pressure from the enemy to be perfect and never make mistakes. Every day, do you best and trust God to do the rest! Don't ever be afraid of your mistakes, but instead have an attitude of learning from them. Let all of your mistakes be a college course in what not to ever do again!

Spend Time in God's Presence
As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness (rightness, justice, and right standing with You); I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake [to find myself] beholding Your form [and having sweet communion with You].
(Psalm 17:15)
There is a God-shaped hole inside every one of us, and we cannot buy something across the counter to fill that hole. The only thing that is going to fill that craving is God Himself. One prayer will not be enough. We have to have daily maintenance. The Bible says, "Ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit." (EPHESIANS 5:18)
I spent years trying to find a time to fit God into my day. God finally told me to stop trying to work Him into my schedule, but to work me schedule around Him.
Contentment is found in the Lord's presence. The Psalms proclaim that the fullness of joy is in God's presence: "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore." (16:11)
We will be fully satisfied when we awake to find ourselves beholding His form and having sweet communion with Him. When God is first in our lives to the point where He is the first thing on our minds when we wake up in the morning, we will have a depth of satisfaction that no devil can take away from us.

“I will remember your sin no more.
No matter what your problem is or how badly you feel about yourself as a result of it, God loves you. In Jesus Christ He has given you a new life. He will provide new friends to love, accept, appreciate, and uphold you. You are okay, and you are going to make it because of the One Who lives inside you and cares for you.
Regardless of what you may have done, you need a deeper revelation of what God means when He says in Jeremiah 31:34, “I will remember your sins no more,” Once you have confessed your sins and asked for God’s forgiveness, if you continue to bring them up to Him every time you go to Him in prayer, you are reminding Him of something He has promised to forget-something He has removed from you as far as the east is from the west (see Psalm 103:12). You need to realize that once you have confessed your sins to God and asked Him to forgive you of them, He has not only forgiven them, but He has actually forgotten them.
You may have to look at yourself in the mirror and confess your deepest failure. You may need to say to God something like, “I had an abortion.” Or, “I committed adultery. I did that, Lord, and it is a marvel to me to realize that I can stand here and look myself in the eye. But I can do so because I know that even though I did something so wrong, You have put my sins as far away from me as the east is from the west, and You remember them no more!”
Whatever your sin or failure, you need to confess it to God and then let it go. Stop punishing yourself for something that is in the past. Refuse to remember something God has chosen to forget.

A Personal Relationship
Jesus answered him, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.
(John 3:3)
When the Bible says that we must be born again-it doesn't say that we must be religious. We must let Jesus come into our lives and sit on the throne of our hearts to rule and reign over every step we take. When He tells us to go a certain direction, He will also issue to us the power we need to do what He has told us to do. Jesus will never say, "Just do it!" He always gives us the power to do whatever He tells us.
The greatest hindrance to hearing from God is trying to get to Him through works instead of through a personal relationship with Him by being born again and fellowshipping with Him regularly. People can go to church for years and do religious things all their lives without ever knowing Jesus as the Lord of their lives.
It is frightening to realize that there are probable thousands of people sitting in churches every week who won't go to heaven. As I often say, "Sitting in a church won't make a person a Christian any more than sitting in a garage will make him a car." In Matthew 7:20-23, the Bible states that there are people who will say in the judgment, "Lord, Lord, have we not done many mighty works in Your name...?" and He will say to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]." People can be doing good works and yet disregarding God's commands if they are not taking the time to be with Him and hear His instructions.

Delight in God's Will
I delight to do your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart.
Psalm 40:8
If we want to hear God’s voice and obey His will, I believe our prayer every morning should be something like this:
“God, I want to walk in Your perfect will all my life. I don’t want Your permissive will; I don’t want to do anything without Your approval and blessing. If I try to do something that’s not Your best for me, please let me feel hesitation in my heart, a check in my spirit, to keep me on the path of Your plan.
Help me to submit myself to You.
Help me not to be stiff-necked.
Help me not to be stubborn.
Help me not to be hard-hearted.
God, I want Your will to operate fully in my life. I’ve experienced the fruit of my own will enough to know that if I get my way, and it’s not what You want, it’s going to turn out badly. I’m willing to obey You, but please help me to hear clearly what You are telling me to do. Amen.”
GOD’S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: Several times each day, whisper to God, “ Your will be done.”

Become a Student of the Word
Welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your heart] contains the power to save your souls.
(James 1:21)
Sometimes God transcends the laws of nature and speaks to us through supernatural revelation. There is nothing more supernatural than the Word of God, which is given to us by divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit speaking through His prophets and disciples. The Bible has an answer for every question we might ever have. Anyone who wants to hear God's voice must be a student of the Word. Of all the other ways that God may speak to us, He will never contradict the written Word.
If we think we can hear clearly from God without spending time in the Word, we are mistaken. Listening for God's voice without being dedicated to spending time in the Word on a regular basis opens us up to hearing voices that are not from God. Knowing the written Word protects us from deception. Some people only come to God when they are in trouble and need help. But if they are not used to hearing from God, they will find it difficult to recognize His voice when they really need Him.
Ever Jesus resisted Satan's lies by answering, "It is written" (see LUKE 4). Any idea, or prompting, or thought that comes to us needs to be compared to the Word of God. All vain imaginations are to be cast down and ignored (see 2 CORINTHIANS 10:5), but knowledge of the Word is of vital importance in discerning the voice of God.

Confidence, not condemnation
Whenever our hearts in [tormenting] self-accusation make us feel guilty and condemn us. [For we are in God's hands.] For He is above and greater than our consciences (our hearts), and He knows (perceives and understands) everything [nothing is hidden from Him].
And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God,
And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him.
And this is His order (His command, His injunction): that we should believe in (put our faith and trust in and adhere to and rely on) the name of His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and that we should love one another just as He has commanded us.
All who keep His commandments [who obey His orders and follow His plan, live and continue to live , to stay and ] abide in Him, and He in them. [They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.] And by this we know and understand and have the proof that He [really] lives and makes His home in us: by the [Holy] Spirit Whom He has given us.
(1 John 3:20-24)
First John 3:20,21 speaks to us about condemnation in our hearts. A condemned heart steals confidence. Anyone who wants to be a victorious Christian must learn to handle condemnation. When he sins, he needs to know how to shake it off and quickly go on because no one is perfect. He may have a perfect heart, a heart that genuinely loves and seeks to please God, but he still will not be prefect in every thought, word, and deed.
I know how condemning it is to teach others about what is right and then foul up in that very area. When we do things like that, we feel a double dose of condemnation because the devil says to us, "You of all people ought to know better." If we listen to him, he will make us feel that we are not worthy of God's love.
We must be able to shake off feelings of condemnation. If we can not, we will have no confidence before God. Without confidence, our faith will not work. And without faith, we cannot please God or receive from Him the things we need in order to do what He has called us to do.
That is why Proverbs 4:23 teaches us to guard our hearts with all diligence and reminds us that the issues of life flow out of our hearts.
God convicts us of our wrongdoing; He does not condemn us. Conviction helps us repent and be lifted out of our problems; condemnation only pushes us down and makes us feel bad about ourselves.
Romans 8:33,34 tells us that God justifies us; He does not bring charges against us. Jesus does not condemn us. He died for us. He sits at the Father's right hand, actually pleading in intercession for us (see Romans 8:34). I have learned from this scripture that when I feel condemned, I either do it to myself or the devil does it to me. Always submit to God's conviction, but resist Satan's condemnation.

Simple Obedience
Oh, that they had such a [mind and] heart in them always [reverently] to fear Me and keep all My commandments, that it might go well with them and with their children forever!
Deuteronomy 5:29
If we will simply listen to the Lord and do what He says, things will go well for us. Most people have no idea how simple it is sometimes to relieve stress, and Satan works to keep it that way! He works to complicate people's lives in every imaginable way because he knows the power and joy simplicity brings.
Satan wants to exhaust the energies God has given us by keeping us too busy and stressed out trying to handle all the things complicating our lives. He know that if we learn to simply obey God, we will turn that power and energy against him by hearing and doing the work God directs!
The transformations many people desire in different areas of their lives come through forming a pattern of obeying God in the little things. He may ask you to come away and visit with Him for half an hour or an evening instead of watching television, going to a party, or talking on the phone. The more consistent you are in keeping yourself still enough to hear His voice and then obey His promptings, the sooner the needed work will be done in you for the transformation to be complete. God uses our obedience in the little things to transform our lives.
No matter what the situation, listen to the Lord and obey. Proverbs 3:6 states, "In all your way know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths" You may not understand the reasons the Lord asks you to do certain things or see any changes or results immediately, but keep obeying the Lord and things will go well with you and your children.

Run to God, Not Away from Him
Meditating on all of our faults and failures weakens us, but medicating on God's grace and willingness to forgive strengthens us. Our relationship and fellowship are to be with God, not with our sins, failures, mistakes, and weaknesses? Whatever amount of time it is, it is wasted. When you sin, admit it, ask for forgiveness, and then continue your fellowship with God. The scipture above says we are alive to God, living in unbroken fellowship with Him. Don't let your sins come between you and the Lord. Even when you sin, God still wants to spend time with you, hear and answer your prayers, and help you with all of your needs. He wants you to run to Him, not away from Him!

Life Point
I want to encourage you to keep your eyes off of yourself and the things that distract you. Instead, focus firmly on Jesus and His power (see Hebrews 12:2). He already knows your troubles. He is ready, willing, and able to bring about the changes that need to be made in you and in your life. He will bring you to maturity and perfection, if you will just ask Him and trust Him to do so. You can count on God; He is the Source of your faith and its Finisher.

The Good Word
Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit.
(Matthew 12:33)
Matthew 12:33 says that a tree is known by its fruit. The same is true in our lives. Thoughts bear fruit. If we think good thoughts, the fruit in our lives will be good. If we think bad thoughts, the fruit in our lives will be bad.
We can look at a person's attitude and know what kind of thinking is prevalent in his life. A sweet, kind person does not have mean, vindictive thoughts, By the same token, a truly evil person does not have good, loving thoughts. Your thoughts determine your results in life, so think goo thoughts and bear good fruit.

"When, God, When?"
Second Peter 3:8 reminds us that God has His own sense of timing. God does not move in our timing. He is never late, but He is usually not early either. He is often the God of the midnight hour. He sometimes waits until the last second before He gives us what we need.
We must learn to trust God's timing. But before we can do that, we must come to the place where we are broken before Him. What I mean is that our self-will and our spirit of independence must be broken before God is free to work His will in our lives and circumstances. Before He intervenes on our behalf, He has to be sure that we are not going to take matters into our own hands and do something out of His perfect timing.
Galatians 6:9 says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,if we faint not" (King James Version). The interesting thing about this scripture is that it always seems to encourage people. Yet really, in this verse, God does not tell us when something is going to happen because "due season" is not specific. If we start checking references that have to do with timing in the Bible, we will find descriptions like: "at the appointed season, in due time, in due season."
Many times when I am waiting on God in a situation and I get discouraged about the time it is taking for Him to answer, someone gives me one of those kinds of scriptures and it encourages me. I still do not know any details because "due time" is really just the time that God knows is right, but the scripture does remind me to trust God.
David wrote a power passage in Psalm 31:14, 15: "But I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God. My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my foes and those who pursue me and persecute me." Like David, we must learn to put our confidence in the Lord, trusting Him to deliver us out of our circumstances-and into the next right thing-in His perfect timing.

My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my foes and those who pursue me and persecute me." Like David, we must learn to put our confidence in the Lord, trusting Him to deliver us out of our circumstances-and into the next right thing-in His perfect timing.

before we can enjoy any real victory over sin and experience change in our behavior, we must learn that only God can change us (see Galatians 3:2-5. We cannot perfect ourselves and when we try to do so, we only become very frustrated. God has called us to perfection and has give us perfect hearts., but the truth, admit our faults, and place our faith in God to change us we will see results, but we must trust His timing. Things do not always happen when we think they should.
We are partners with God and we do have a part to play. Our part is to believe and obey any specific instruction God might give us; His part is to work the good thing He has placed inside of us to the outside of us where it can be seen and enjoyed by others and ourselves. When we get int "works of the flesh" (our energy trying to do God's job) we get frustrated, God Himself frustrates, opposes, and defeats us until we humble ourselves and lean entirely on Him (see 1 Peter 5:5). It took a long time, but I finally learned that every time I felt frustrated I had stopped trusting God and started trusting myself to accomplish whatever needed to be done at the time.
We received Christ totally by faith and that is the same way we must live our lives. We realize that we need to change and frequently become very disappointed with ourselves-even fell condemned-when we do not. We are much better off to pull all the energy we use trying to change ourselves into prayer and trust God to do what needs to be done.
By faith God is working in you and you will see wonderful changes, but you must turn the project of your perfection over to Him entirely. Let God be God in your life! Instead of saying. "I'll never change," say, "God is working in me as I trust Him, and I believe I am getting better and better every day. God is strengthening me in my weaknesses and helping me overcome bad habits.
