Led by the Spirit

If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]

(Galatians 5:25)

Today's verse speaks of living and walking by the Spirit, which are the same as being led by the Spirit. There are many things available to lead us-people, the devil, the flesh (our own bodies, minds, wills, or emotions), or the Holy Spirit. There are many voices in the world that speak to us, and often several that do so at the same time. It is imperative that we learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit. Remember: He is the One Who knows the will of God and Who is sent to dwell in each of us to aid us in being all God has designed us to be and to have all He wants us to have.

The Holy Spirit lives in us to help us. His help may not always be welcome at first, but, thank God, He is persistent and will not give up on us. We should lift up our entire lives daily and say with all our might, "Holy Spirit, You are welcome in every area of my life!"

When you welcome the Holy Spirit in every area of your life, He will come. He will speak to you, guide you, correct you, help you, empower you, and lead you. Other forces may try to lead you, but the Holy Spirit gives you power to resist them and enables you to follow Him.

GOD'S WORD FOR YOU TODAY: Ask yourself who is leading your life. Is it you, other people, emotions, the lies of Satan, or the Holy Spirit?
